About Southern California Music Festival Club
In 2008 Elizabeth Petersen organized the first Santa Clarita Valley NFMC Junior Music Festival. Over the years we have grown in size, from 40 participants, to over 300. Wanting to offer more performance opportunities in addition to the NFMC Junior Music Festival, we officially formed the Southern California Music Festival Club. Today the club has members from all over Southern California.
Our club members organize recitals, competitions, and community service projects in addition to the annual Santa Clarita Valley Junior Music Festival. As members of the National Federation of Music Clubs, we strive to promote and support American composers, music education, and musical performances within our local community.
Whether your passion is teaching the performing arts or supporting it, we welcome you. Our members are music enthusiasts, performers, and teachers from all over Southern California. We meet monthly, both in-person and through zoom to socialize and collaborate on ideas to keep music education, and music performances an important part of our culture and society. Teachers who join, have the opportunity to register their students in the nationally recognized NFMC Junior Music Festival program, organized by our local members. Contact Madeline Miller for membership information.
