Dear Students and Parents,

Welcome to the Southern California Music Festival Club. We are a grassroots association of music teachers, and music enthusiasts dedicated to promoting music and music education in our local community. Our members are part of  the California Federation of Music Clubs (CFMC) and the National Federation of Music Clubs (NFMC). As members of NFMC, our goal is to promote American composers, music education, and music performances  for musicians of all ages and abilities.

NFMC, founded in 1898, is now the world’s largest philanthropic music organization supporting American music and musicians. It is one of three music organizations to be chartered by the United States Congress and the only music organization member of the United Nations. There are 6,000 NFMC-related organizations and music clubs nationally. They offer a broad array of programs and awards for junior, collegiate, and senior musicians. They also sponsor National Music Week in May, and the American Music Month in November.

Our club strives to offer creative and rewarding  opportunities that will not only  encourage music performance, but will inspire students to achieve a high level of musicianship. Our club members participate in community service projects , music competitions, student leadership groups, and NFMC Junior Music Festivals.

This year will be our 18th Annual Santa Clarita Valley Junior Music Festival. The NFMC Music Festivals Program  gives participants the opportunity to perform in a non-competitive environment, and receive feedback from a qualified evaluator. Participants earn points toward a Gold Cup in each of the different events. On average it takes 3-4 years to achieve a National Gold Cup. We have both a  Fall and Spring Festival to keep students learning and performing all year round.

Our club will proudly host the 3rd Annual Holiday Recital and Toy Drive on December 7, 2024. All toys collected will be donated to the CHP CHiP’s for Kids. I hope you will participate in the festival, and some of the other amazing events and programs organized by our club. Visit our local website at www.scvmusic.org for updates and opportunities.  To learn more about  CFMC visit www.ca-fmc.org, for information on NFMC, visit www.nfmc-music.org.

Sincerely,
