Celebrate National Music Week: "Music is...Unstoppable" May 4-11th
What should performers wear?
It is important to make sure that you dress in a way that honors the hard work you have put into preparing for your performance. This guide will help you figure out what to wear for an evaluated performance event.
Formal Recital Attire is required for all of our festivals and evaluated events, and is an important part of the performers evaluation. Taking the time to carefully plan your outfit demonstrates respect for our organization, the audience, the evaluator, and yourself as a performer.

Girls should wear closed toes with a strap around the heel or the ankle. Open toes sandals, or shoes without a heel strap are not appropriate. Ballet flats and low heels are the best choices if you will be using the pedals.
Boys should wear formal dress shoes. Athletic shoes or fabric shoes, even if they are a solid color, are not appropriate.
